Improving Knowledge for the Restoration of Freshwater Ecosystems

EcoAdvance supports freshwater restoration stakeholders by offering a people centred perspective on “What makes Freshwater Restoration Projects prone to success?”.  Learning from past successful experiences allows future practitioners to focus on aspects most likely to help their restoration projects succeed.

Building from an initial review of practice across Europe, including a review of recent literature, EcoAdvance surveyed different restoration stakeholders to identify the factors that might help or hinder a project (leading to the Prone2Sucess checklist). Subsequent consultation with successful practitioners, drawn from all areas of the restoration process, allowed EcoAdvance to develop showcases relating successful people and their projects, sharing their personal experiences and their lessons learnt.

These showcases span all European Member States offering different perspectives on potential restoration solutions and approaches, whilst demonstrating Prone2Sucess Checklist factors and Nature Restoration Regulation categories.
